Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda engaged in a series of high-level political meetings today, highlighting ongoing negotiations to shape Nepal’s government.
In a notable development, senior Unified Socialist Party leader Jhalanath Khanal met with PM Dahal earlier today. The Prime Minister also held discussions with Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
Later today, PM Dahal is scheduled to meet with influential CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. These talks are expected to be crucial in determining the allocation of ministries among coalition parties in an upcoming task force meeting.
The Prime Minister’s Secretariat confirmed Oli’s participation, indicating that important decisions may be forthcoming.
Alongside these meetings, internal discussions within ruling parties actively influence the political landscape. Efforts are also underway to expand the ruling coalition, focusing on potentially including the Unified Socialist Party.
The current coalition consists of the CPN-UML, Maoist Center, RSP, and Janata Samajwadi Party.
The flurry of political activity in Kathmandu reflects the complex negotiations and shifting alliances as Nepal’s government continues to evolve.
