Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has secured the support of two-thirds of the MPs in the House of Representatives.
Out of 275 members, 188 MPs voted in favor of Oli’s motion of confidence on Sunday, July 21. There were 74 votes against and 1 invalid vote.
A total of 263 members were present in Parliament during the vote.
The Nepali Congress, CPN UML, Janata Samajwadi Party, Janmaat Party, Democratic Socialist Party, Civil Liberties Party, and some independent MPs backed Prime Minister Oli.
Opposition came from the CPN-Maoist Center, National Independent Party, National Democratic Party, and United Socialist Party.
