A devastating bus accident in Dhading, Nepal, this morning has resulted in the deaths of seven passengers, with fears that the toll may rise due to severe injuries. The bus, traveling from Kapilvastu to Kathmandu, veered off the Prithviraj Highway and plunged into the Trishuli River.
Authorities report that 36 injured individuals have been rescued and taken to hospitals. Search operations are ongoing as police investigate the possibility of missing passengers. Local forces and residents are working together in the rescue efforts.
The bus driver, Hariram Harijan, is in police custody and has stated that 49 passengers were onboard at the time of the crash.
