Writ Filed in Supreme Court Against HM Rabi Lamichhane

A writ has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the suspension of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane. The petition argues that Lamichhane’s role as Home Minister compromises the fairness of an ongoing investigation into government fraud.

Advocate Anupam Bhattarai lodged the writ on Monday, naming the Attorney General’s Office, Attorney General Dinmani Pokharel, and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane as respondents. This legal action follows a letter from the Attorney General’s Office asserting that there are no pending prosecutions against Lamichhane in any court.

The writ also calls for the annulment of this letter, which states that there is no case of cooperative fraud against Lamichhane.
