Prof. Dr. Roji Shrestha has taken the oath of office as the Member-Secretary of the University Grants Commission. The oath was administered by Prof. Dr. Khadga Bahadur Keshi, Chairman of the Commission, after he himself took the oath from Education Minister Sashmit Pokharel.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education and Sports on Thursday. After the oath-taking ceremony, Minister Pokharel urged the Commission to prioritize improving the quality of higher education, reforming universities, and restructuring institutions.
Newly appointed Chairman Keshi expressed his commitment to prioritizing policy and structural reforms in universities. Member-Secretary Shrestha also stated that she would work responsibly to make the University Grants Commission more effective during her tenure and contribute to the reform of higher education.
The decision to appoint Prof. Dr. Khadga Bahadur Keshi as the Chairman and Prof. Dr. Roji Shrestha as the Member-Secretary was made by the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Ashar 29, 2083.
