Nepal’s Taxpayer Incentive Scheme: Kanchanpur Resident Wins Big

A resident of Kanchanpur, Hemraj Joshi, has won a cash prize of 10 lakh rupees under the Nepali government’s taxpayer incentive scheme. The scheme, which was announced in the budget, aims to encourage people to pay taxes and promote digital transactions.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle congratulated Joshi over the phone and informed him that he had won the grand prize. Joshi had purchased goods worth 250 rupees from Shivkrishna General Stores using online banking and had scanned the QR code to make the payment.

Minister Wagle also congratulated another winner, Sapana Kharel from Rupandehi, who had won a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees. Kharel had purchased vegetables worth 900 rupees from Shubasiddhi Suppliers in Devdaha Municipality.

The taxpayer incentive scheme was launched on Ashar 1 and will continue until the end of the fiscal year. The scheme is open to all taxpayers who make digital transactions and pay taxes on time. The government will provide a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees to one winner every day and 10 lakh rupees to two winners every 15 days.

The winners will be announced on the 16th of every month and on the last day of the month. The cash prize will be subject to a 25% tax deduction, and the winners will receive the remaining amount.
