Over 1,300kg of Cannabis Seized from Abandoned Truck in Khotang

A large haul of cannabis was seized from an abandoned truck in Khotang on Friday, according to the District Police Office, Khotang.

The truck, with license plate number Pr. 1–02–002 Kh 0083, was found in a suspicious condition in the jungle of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-7, Dorpachiuri Danda, along the Mid-Hill Highway.

Police Inspector Nirajan Basnet of the District Police Office, Khotang, said that a search of the truck revealed 1,315 kilograms of cannabis hidden in a false bottom created between the driver’s seat and the back of the truck.

Investigation Underway

The police became suspicious when they found no one in the truck, leading to a search of the vehicle. The cannabis and the truck have been taken to the District Police Office for further investigation.

The driver of the truck is currently at large, and the police are searching for the driver and the owner of the truck.
