Nepal Committed to Providing Easy Passport Services

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that it is committed to providing easy passport services to citizens.

At a press conference held at the ministry on Friday, spokesperson Lok Bahadur Poudel said that the ministry is committed to providing easy passport services. He also informed that the Department of Passport has been providing services through two systems to make the service more systematic and citizen-friendly.

According to Poudel, the service is available even on Saturdays and Sundays. He also stated that more than 25,000 passports have been printed so far through the new system.

Poudel also informed that 860 Nepalis who were victims of online scams in various places in Southeast Asia have been rescued. He also stated that 76 Nepalis are in detention in Cambodia, 38 of whom are involved in online scams and 38 in organized crime.

Poudel also provided information about the bodies of the victims of the Broad Peak accident. He said that the bodies of Kili Pemba Sherpa, Gyalu Sherpa, and Nima Sherpa have been brought to Islamabad, but the bodies of one Nepali, one Pakistani, and one American climber are still to be brought due to difficult geographical conditions.

Poudel also informed that the Nepalese Embassy in Islamabad is facilitating the process of bringing the bodies back to Nepal.
