The initiation of the election process for the Speaker of the National Assembly has been officially declared. Two prominent figures have stepped forward as candidates for the coveted position – Narayan Prasad Dahal, representing the ruling coalition, and Yubaraj Sharma, nominated by the opposition coalition.

During the Assembly session, Anand Prasad Dhungana, a member of the Congress, put forth a proposal advocating for Yubaraj Sharma’s candidacy as the Speaker of the National Assembly. Dhungana emphasized Sharma’s extensive experience in Nepali politics, appealing to fellow Assembly members for their votes, asserting that Sharma is well-suited for the esteemed role.
