Sources indicate the CPN-UML will join the Madhesh Province government, with UML parliamentary party leader Saroj Kumar Yadav set to be appointed as Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development. This development follows the planned dismissal of incumbent Nepali Congress (NC) ministers holding the portfolios of Physical Infrastructure Development, Health and Population, and Home, Communications, and Law.
A Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) leader confirmed the impending swearing-in of Yadav. Reports suggest an agreement has been reached to grant the CPN-UML four ministries, including education and culture, in the new power alliance. However, internal discussions within the UML may delay the full allocation of ministries, with only Yadav’s appointment as Physical Infrastructure Development Minister expected today.
The JSP-led government, headed by Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav, has requested the resignation of NC ministers. The NC ministers have indicated they will not step down voluntarily until the Chief Minister justifies their dismissal.
