An elderly woman met a tragic end in Bagmati Municipality of Sarlahi on Tuesday evening. Parbati Mahato, 70, wife of Baiju Mahato of Jirayat, Bagmati Municipality-4, was found murdered in her own home around 6:30 pm.
Superintendent of Police Dayanidhi Gyawali confirmed on Wednesday morning that a local youth has been arrested in connection with the murder. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details about the incident.
Authorities discovered a piece of wood stained with blood near the victim’s body, adding to the horror of the crime. The community is left in shock and mourning over the loss of Parbati Mahato.
