Why is Vietnam’s Stock Market Down Today?

Vietnam’s stock market remains under pressure on October 15, 2026, with the VN-Index extending its losses for a sixth straight session and nearing the psychologically important 1,700-point support level. The latest drop has been fueled by intense selling in major real estate stocks linked to Vingroup, continued foreign investor outflows, and cautious trading amid subdued liquidity.

Vietnam’s Hanoi Stock Exchange Index (HNX-Index) is also facing renewed selling pressure, as investors remained wary amid ongoing weakness in the domestic stock market. The index opened at 265.16 points, matching the previous session’s close, before coming under downward pressure throughout the trading session.
