Spoiler alert: This story contains spoilers for the Ted Lasso Season 4 finale.

Ted Lasso Season 4 has officially come to an end, but fans may not have to say goodbye to AFC Richmond just yet. The 10-episode fourth season brought Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso back to England, this time with a new challenge: coaching Richmond’s women’s football team.

And while Season 4 gave several characters emotional new beginnings, it also left enough story open for another chapter. So, is Ted Lasso returning for Season 5?

Here’s everything we know about a potential fifth season, including its renewal status, possible cast and Jason Sudeikis’ plans for the future of the show.

Will Ted Lasso Return For Season 5?

As of the Season 4 finale, Apple TV has not officially renewed Ted Lasso for Season 5. That means there is currently no confirmed release date, production start date or official episode count for another season. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean Season 4 is the end. The finale was presented as a season finale rather than a series finale, and the new season leaves several characters with storylines that could easily continue.

Jason Sudeikis previously indicated that he had another three-season arc in mind for this new phase of Ted Lasso, which began with the introduction of Richmond’s women’s team.

What Did Jason Sudeikis Say About Season 5?

Sudeikis has been clear that bringing Ted Lasso back for Season 4 was not simply about extending the original story. The first three seasons largely followed Ted and AFC Richmond’s men’s team before Ted returned to Kansas to be with his son. Season 4 instead created a new chapter around the women’s team.
