Former Prime Minister and President of the Nepali Congress (NC), Sher Bahadur Deuba, made a residential move on Wednesday, transitioning from his rented accommodation in Dhumbarahi back to his private residence in Budhanilkantha.
This marks a significant return for Deuba, who had previously shifted from Budhanilkantha to the official residence in Baluwatar during his tenure as Prime Minister on July 13, 2021. Following the conclusion of his term, he subsequently relocated to a rented residence in Dhumbarahi.
The move to Dhumbarahi on December 28, 2021, was necessitated by ongoing maintenance work at his Budhanilkantha residence. Deuba, during this period, had been residing in the rented property.
The return to his private residence in Budhanilkantha suggests the completion of the maintenance work or the resolution of any issues that prompted the temporary shift. Budhanilkantha, known for its tranquil surroundings, has been a familiar residence for Deuba, and the move signifies a return to the comfort of his own home.
Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residential transitions have been notable over the past year, reflecting the dynamic nature of his political and personal life. As he settles back into his familiar abode, the former Prime Minister continues to play a prominent role in the political landscape of Nepal as the leader of the Nepali Congress.
