Carlos Alcaraz secured a straight-sets victory against Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the second round of the Shanghai Masters 2026. The Spanish star defeated the Argentine 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the next round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
Alcaraz has been dominant on serve, winning 80% of his service points compared to Cerundolo’s 64%. He has also struck 24 winners, three times Cerundolo’s eight, while winning 57% of the total points played.

Alcaraz’s shot-making proved a major difference between the two players. The Spaniard struck 24 winners compared to Cerundolo’s eight and won 13 of his 20 points at the net. He also converted three of his seven break-point opportunities, while Cerundolo failed to earn a break-point conversion.
