Russia-Ukraine War Latest News:  Italian government officials have also taken an indirect shot at the United States in relation to restrictions placed on Ukraine regarding its access to satellite technology and intelligence necessary for protection from Russian aggression. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto has characterized such a step as “a complete mistake, a huge mistake,” adding that undermining Ukraine will only motivate Putin to prolong the war instead of pursuing peace talks. Speaking in an interview with BBC, Guido Crosetto pointed out that Ukraine should have enough military power not to let Russia think that it will be able to win the conflict.

Crosetto believed that restricting Ukraine from using satellite technology and intelligence would reduce its capacity to protect itself from any Russian invasion. According to him, this decision can extend the period of Russia’s full-scale invasion rather than help in ending the war.

“The war will end only when Putin realizes that he has reached the limit; he cannot go any further,” Crosetto was reported to have said during the BBC interview. Moreover, he said that if Putin thinks that Ukraine is weakening due to decreased support from America, then the Russian president may think that victory is possible and continue the war.
