The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is considering fielding Milan Limbu as its candidate in the Ilam-2 constituency. A high-level RSP leader confirmed that discussions with Limbu, who previously announced his independent candidacy, have been positive.
Limbu is currently involved with the Press Center, a Maoist-aligned journalist association, and serves as the general secretary of the Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (FoNIJ).
The RSP emphasizes its focus on selecting qualified candidates regardless of past affiliations. A party leader stated, “We are not concerned with party affiliations. Our priority is ensuring that potential RSP candidates have a non-controversial background.”
