Residents of Rohini Municipality in Rupandehi have finally received land ownership certificates, also known as Lalpurja, after a wait of nearly 58 years.
The certificates were distributed to 271 families, marking a historic achievement for the locals who had been waiting for decades to obtain legal proof of their land ownership.
The land in question was previously part of the Bodhwar and Parsa Village Development Committees, which were separated in 2025 BS. A total of 324 plots of land were registered, with 271 of them receiving the Lalpurja certificates.
The distribution of the certificates is expected to simplify land transactions, banking, and other administrative services for the locals. The villagers expressed their joy and relief at finally receiving the certificates in their names.
The certificates were handed over to the landowners on Ashar 29, 2083 BS, bringing an end to their long wait for legal recognition of their land ownership.
