Sarlahi, Nepal: After evading authorities for years, Ram Bahadur Bomjon, once known as the “Buddha Boy” for his long meditations, faced the Nepali justice system today. Accused of grave charges including the disappearance of multiple followers, Bomjon was produced in the District Court of Sarlahi on Wednesday night.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) apprehended Bomjon on Tuesday evening in Hattigaunda, Kathmandu, ending a months-long nationwide manhunt. His capture and court appearance mark a significant development in a case that has attracted international attention and stirred controversy in Nepal.

Bomjon, 37, shot to fame as a teenager in 2005 when he reportedly meditated for months without food, water, or sleep.
