Preparations are in full swing for the Janai Purnima festival at Gosaikunda, a prominent pilgrimage site in the region.
Hotel entrepreneurs in the area are working to complete the construction of waiting rooms, toilets, and accommodations, as well as arranging for the transportation of food items such as rice, lentils, oil, salt, and spices in time for the festival, which is scheduled to take place on Bhadra 12.
According to Renjan Nima Tamang, president of the Gosaikunda Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, more than 25 hotels along the Gosaikunda route, including those in Khanti Deurali, Dimsa, Chandanbari, and Lauri Vinayak, are working at a rapid pace to prepare for the festival.
To ensure that pilgrims do not face any accommodation problems, more than 200 temporary shelters (tharpa) are being built.
The Langtang National Park has requested hotel entrepreneurs to make arrangements for toilets at each tharpa.
