A former mayor of Kapilvastu municipality and a Congress leader, Kiran Singh Gorusinge, has been found dead in a jungle after being missing for three days.
Singh, 65, had gone missing since Friday from Tilaurakot Community Forest. Although his motorcycle was found in the jungle, he was nowhere to be found.
SP Manohar Bhatta, the police chief of Kapilvastu, confirmed that Singh’s body was found in the jungle on Sunday. ‘Our search team has found Singh’s dead body, and we are gathering more information,’ he said.
Singh had left his home in Kapilvastu-3 around 2 pm on Friday. At around 3:15 pm, he had called some people close to him, saying, ‘I have lost my way in the jungle, please save me.’
When his family and team went searching for him, they found his motorcycle, with license plate number Lu. Pr. 01-013 P 7970, parked in the jungle area, about eight kilometers from the East-West Highway.
