A 12-hour power outage is expected to affect several districts in eastern Nepal, including Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, and Taplejung, as well as parts of Morang, on Saturday.
The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced that the power supply will be disrupted from 4 am to 4 pm on Saturday to facilitate equipment testing and operation at the Keroun 132/33 kV substation in Morang, as well as the construction of the Duhbi-Damak 132 kV transmission line.
According to the NEA, the power outage will affect the entire districts of Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, and Taplejung, as well as the areas of Urlabari, Pathari, and surrounding regions in Morang.
The NEA has also stated that work will be carried out to install a dead-end tower between towers 68 and 69 in Keroun during the outage period.
The NEA has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the power outage and has requested the cooperation and understanding of consumers, assuring that power supply will be restored as soon as the technical work is completed.
If the work is completed ahead of schedule, the power supply will also be restored earlier than planned, the NEA has said.
