Nepal’s Paddy Plantation Reaches 95.5% Completion

Nepal’s paddy plantation has reached its final stage, with 95.5% of the total cultivable land being planted with paddy as of Shrawan 22.

According to the Department of Agriculture, the progress of paddy plantation has improved compared to the previous year. Last year, only 91.31% of the land was planted with paddy by Shrawan 25.

This year, it is estimated that paddy will be cultivated in a total area of 13,70,062 hectares across the country. So far, 13,08,383 hectares of land have been planted with paddy, according to the department’s data.

Province-wise Progress

In terms of province-wise progress, the Far-Western Province has achieved 100% completion of paddy plantation. The department has reported that all 1,54,950 hectares of land in the province have been planted with paddy.

The Madhes Province has also shown significant improvement in paddy plantation compared to the previous year. Last year, only 66.54% of the land was planted with paddy during the same period, whereas this year, 94.65% of the land has been planted with paddy as of Shrawan 22.

This improvement is expected to have a positive impact on paddy production.
