Nepal’s Online News has unveiled its list of 40 influential youth under 40 years old, marking International Youth Day. The list, which was announced at a special ceremony in Lalitpur, will be awarded by President Ram Chandra Poudel later today.
The list aims to highlight the positive impact of young people in society, despite the presence of some negative trends. This is the third year that Online News has published the list of 40 influential youth.
The selection process took around four months, with the Online News team narrowing down over 1,500 applications and nominations to the final 40. The shortlisted candidates were then presented to a selection committee, which included former Supreme Court Justice Anil Kumar Sinha, researchers Dr. Uttam Babu Shrestha and Dr. Amrita Sharma, and Online News Editor-in-Chief Basanta Basnet.
The committee made the final selection based on the candidates’ achievements and recommendations. The list will be awarded at a ceremony later today.
