Nepali rock band 1974 AD has performed in Portugal for the first time as part of their ‘Rock Yatra’ European tour. The opening concert of the tour, held in Lisbon, drew over 1,500 spectators.
The concert, which lasted for nearly three hours, kicked off with the band’s popular songs ‘Timilai Pirati’ and ‘Sambodhan’. The band then went on to perform their other hit songs, entertaining the crowd throughout.
‘This is 1974 AD’s first performance in Portugal. We are thrilled to have had over 1,500 spectators at our first show,’ said Anuj Karki, the band’s manager.
According to Karki, the purpose of the Rock Yatra tour is to connect Nepalis around the world through Nepali music. The tour, which began in Portugal, will travel to various countries in Europe, including Denmark, France, Poland, Malta, and Belgium.
1974 AD has partnered with ‘I Poppers’ to perform in various locations across Europe. ‘The energy and love we received from Nepali spectators in Europe will make our upcoming concerts even more special,’ Karki said.
