Nepali Congress Weakened by Special Convention: Prakash Man Singh

Former Nepali Congress General Secretary Prakash Man Singh has stated that the party has been weakened due to the special convention. Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Sunday, he claimed that the party has become weak and divided as a result of the special convention.

Singh mentioned that he and his team had suggested not holding the special convention from the beginning, but their advice was ignored. He believes that the special convention was not an appropriate way to resolve internal disputes within the party, and instead, it has led to more controversy and division.

Singh emphasized that the party leadership should be elected through a regular convention, as the time for a regular convention has already arrived. He argued that a leader who has the support of the people and the party workers will make the party stronger if they are elected through a regular convention.

The former general secretary stressed that the party should be united and moved forward, rather than being weakened by internal activities. He also pointed out that the disputes and polarization within the party will affect the organization as well.

Singh emphasized the need to create an environment of consensus and unity between the leadership and the party workers. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening the party’s institutional structure and democratic practices.

Regarding the controversy over the party’s legitimacy, Singh expressed his confidence that his side will receive justice.
