The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has appealed to consumers not to stock up on more cylinders than needed, citing sufficient supply in the market.

The association stated that the recent import of LP gas from India has been smooth, and industries have been regularly refilling and supplying cylinders to the market, thereby preventing artificial shortages.

Dewan Bahadur Chand, president of the association, issued a statement urging consumers to adopt restraint and not purchase additional gas cylinders, which would help resolve the current shortage.

Chand assured that there would be no problems with gas supply in the coming days.

According to Nepal Oil Corporation, LP gas imports from various Indian refineries have increased by around 15% in recent times. In just 22 days, 39,774 metric tons of gas have been imported, the corporation stated.

It is estimated that around 55,000 metric tons of gas will be imported in the month of Shrawan in the current fiscal year, compared to 44,318 metric tons in the same period last year.

The LP Gas Industry Association stated that it is working to ensure supply according to market demand. The association also urged sellers to prioritize household consumers and distribute gas accordingly.
