A significant rise in crime has been reported across Nepal, according to the Nepal Police. The data released by the Police Headquarters shows a 4.35% increase in crime rates.

Speaking at a program held at the Police Headquarters on Friday, Central Spokesperson and DIG Abhinarayan Kafle revealed that the crime rate has increased. According to the police data, a total of 61,016 cases were registered at police stations across the country in the fiscal year 2082/83. In contrast, 58,472 cases were registered in the fiscal year 2081/82.

The data shows that the crime rate has increased by 4.35% in the fiscal year 2082/83 compared to the previous year. Similarly, 59,203 cases were registered in the fiscal year 2080/81, and 56,323 cases were registered in the fiscal year 2079/80.

The police have reported an increase in cybercrime, banking offenses, online scams, and foreign employment scams.
