Nepal continued its winning streak in India’s SMS Friendship Cup tournament, defeating Baroda by a decisive 27 runs. Baroda, chasing a target of 157, was bowled out for 129 in 20 overs, unable to overcome Nepal’s strong bowling performance.

Nepal’s fast bowlers set the tone early, with a devastating opening over that saw two wickets fall without a run scored. Baroda struggled to recover, losing wickets steadily throughout the innings. A brief partnership offered some hope, but ultimately, they could not mount a successful challenge.

Nepal’s bowlers shared the wickets, with strong performances across the board. The team’s fielding also contributed, adding a key run-out to Baroda’s woes.

Earlier, Nepal batted first and posted a competitive total of 156 for 6. A strong sixth-wicket partnership proved vital in helping Nepal reach a defendable score after a difficult start.

This marks Nepal’s second victory in the tournament, following their win against Gujarat. They will now face Gujarat again on Wednesday, followed by a match against Baroda on Friday. The final will take place on Sunday.
