The Department of Land Management and Archive has reminded that permits are required for real estate transactions exceeding three million rupees in metropolitan and sub-metropolitan areas.
The department has urged firms, companies, and institutions to submit online applications within 21 days to obtain the necessary permits.
According to the notice published in the gazette, firms, companies, or institutions that wish to engage in real estate transactions exceeding three million rupees in metropolitan and sub-metropolitan areas must obtain a permit.
Interested institutions and companies must submit their applications through the department’s online system. The permit fee has been set based on the nature of the transaction.
For transactions up to five million rupees, a fee of 500,000 rupees will be charged, while transactions exceeding five million rupees will require a fee of one million rupees.
The department has clarified that even if online applications were submitted earlier, firms, companies, and institutions that did not obtain permits by Ashar 29, 2083, must reapply online according to the new notice.
Along with the online application, a printed copy of the submitted documents must be submitted to the department.
After the application is registered, the concerned company or institution must submit a certificate from the Nepal Police’s Central Crime Investigation Bureau stating that the company or institution is not involved in any criminal activities.
The department has requested that for further information on permits, applicants should contact the department directly.
