Nepal Police Take Action Against 1,848 Personnel in One Year

Nepal’s police force has taken disciplinary action against 1,848 personnel in the past year, according to the Nepal Police Headquarters.

The data shows that 1,848 police personnel faced action in the fiscal year 2082/83 for various reasons, including misconduct, unprofessional behavior, and violating the police code of conduct.

Those who faced action include personnel from various ranks, ranging from office assistants to Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs), said DIG Abinarayan Kafle, spokesperson for the Nepal Police.

The breakdown of personnel who faced action includes 53 office assistants, 866 police constables, 356 police assistant head constables, 262 head constables, 61 senior head constables, 139 assistant sub-inspectors, 52 sub-inspectors, 17 senior sub-inspectors, 33 inspectors, three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), three Superintendents of Police (SPs), two Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and one DIG.
