Nepal Opposition Demands Clarity on Key Issues in Parliament

Nepal’s opposition parties have urged the government to provide clarity on several key issues that have been raised in parliament for some time.

In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, opposition lawmakers demanded that the government take steps to control the rising cost of living and address the shortage of cooking gas.

Communist Party of Nepal (UML) lawmaker Kripa Ram Rana sought clarification from the government on the recent controversy surrounding the Lipulek, Kalapani, and Limpiyadhura areas on the Nepal map.

Lawmaker Yuvraj Dula of the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) requested the prime minister to withdraw his previous statement in parliament regarding the alleged encroachment of land.

Dhurva Raj Rai of the Labour and Culture Party expressed dissatisfaction that the government had not responded to the questions raised by his party and that the Speaker had not sought a solution.

Khusbu Oli of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party drew attention to the need for implementation of the agreement reached with the families of those killed and injured in recent incidents in Sunsari and Saptari.
