A Nepal Airlines Corporation wide-body aircraft carrying 265 passengers bound for Doha was forced to return to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu 44 minutes after takeoff on Thursday night due to a technical malfunction.
Corporation Technical Spokesperson Devendra Pun confirmed the issue was with the hydraulic system. The plane was safely returned to Kathmandu at midnight.
Passengers originally scheduled on flight RA-239 were transferred to another wide-body aircraft and departed for Doha at 3 pm. To accommodate this change, two regularly scheduled Delhi flights were merged.
The aircraft experiencing the technical problem is currently undergoing repairs in Kathmandu and is expected to resume its Delhi flight at 1:45 pm.
