The 11th meeting of the Nepal Standards Council has approved various quality standards for different products, including motor gasoline blending components and elastomeric bridge bearings.

The meeting, attended by representatives from relevant ministries and concerned agencies, accepted the recommendations of the technical committee formed for the determination and review of Nepal standards.

The council approved the specification for ethanol used as a blending component in motor gasoline and the standard for elastomeric bridge bearings. It also approved various international standards for testing the hardness of rubber.

In addition, the meeting approved the standard for determining the compression set of rubber and thermoplastic materials.

According to the council, the decision was made with the aim of revising quality standards in a timely manner and bringing them in line with international practices.

The approved standards are expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of industries and production sectors, make testing systems more effective, and make Nepali products compatible with international standards.

The council also made necessary decisions to make the process of determining and reviewing quality standards more systematic and effective.
