Madhusudan Burlakoti has been appointed to the vacant post of Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
Burlakoti, who brings prior experience from his time working in the Ministry of Health, confirmed receipt of his appointment letter on Monday. “I will be returning to the health sector within a few days,” he stated to the media. He previously served in the office of the Vice President.
Burlakoti expressed his commitment to improving the services provided by government hospitals. “Citizens deserve timely treatment when they are ill, and I will endeavor to make advancements in this area,” he said.
The position of health administration secretary became vacant following the government leave of Dev Kumari Guragain. The Ministry of Health has two secretaries, with Dr. Roshan Pokharel currently overseeing health services.
