Journalist Kishor Shrestha has been arrested in Kathmandu. A team from the District Police Range Kathmandu and the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Shrestha from Kusunti in Lalitpur on Wednesday evening.
Police officials from the District Police Range and the Crime Investigation Office confirmed Shrestha’s arrest. "He has been arrested and is currently being taken to the police range," an official from the Crime Investigation Office said.
Shrestha has been charged under the Individual Privacy Act 2075. The police had obtained an arrest warrant against Shrestha from the District Court Kathmandu.
Shrestha is the publisher of the weekly newspaper Jan Aastha. He was arrested on Wednesday evening and is currently in police custody.
