Heavy rainfall has caused disruptions to major highways and roads across Nepal, with over a dozen roads affected by landslides, floods, and other incidents.

According to the Nepal Police, the BP Highway connecting Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli has been closed due to the risk of flooding, with all vehicles prohibited from traveling on the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section from 6 pm to 4 am.

The Kanti Lokpath has also been closed due to heavy rainfall, with all vehicles prohibited from traveling from 5 pm to 5 am.

Multiple Roads Affected

The Mechi Highway has been completely blocked due to landslides in Ilam, with alternative routes available. The Arniko Highway has also been affected, with multiple sections blocked due to landslides and floods in Sindhupalchok.

The Lamasanghu-Ramechhap road section has been blocked due to a landslide in Dolakha, with alternative routes available. Other roads affected include the Pasang Lhamu road in Rasuwa, the Nagm-Gamgadhi road in Mugu, and the Beni-Jomsom road section in Myagdi.

The police have urged the public to exercise caution while traveling during the monsoon season, advising them to check the road conditions before embarking on their journey.
