In the event organized by Durga Prasai, titled ‘Initiative for the Safeguarding of Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizens,’ former King Gyanendra Shah, accompanied by the RPP, will not be partaking in an official capacity.

Prasai had extended an invitation to former King Gyanendra Shah to be the chief guest at the planned protest gathering in Kathmandu on the 1st of Falgun.

However, the former king is scheduled to travel to Chitwan on Sunday.

Currently, he is immersed in visiting various religious sites in Chitwan and meeting with supporters. The secretariat has confirmed that he won’t be able to attend Prasai’s program due to a prior commitment in Chitwan.

In a meeting with RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden on Monday, Prasai requested the participation of party workers in his program.

However, RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha clarified that the party won’t be institutionally involved in Prasai’s program and movement. He affirmed that President Lingden has no plans to participate in Prasai’s program scheduled for Tuesday.
