Gulmi Wildfire Devastates 38 Households, Injures Two

A devastating wildfire in Isma Rural Municipality-2, Gulmi district, has destroyed 38 households, including 13 houses and 25 sheds. The blaze, which spread from a nearby community forest, also tragically killed over 40 livestock.

Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Sharma and a team have arrived on-site to assess the damage. Assistant Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Gaire confirmed that displaced families have been relocated to safe areas within the village.

The fire’s impact extends beyond Isma Rural Municipality, with additional blazes reported throughout the district. Authorities are currently compiling a comprehensive damage assessment.

Two individuals have been injured fighting the fires: 19-year-old Himal Rana of Isma Rural Municipality-1 and 21-year-old Prem Rana of Musikot Municipality-7. Both have been transferred to Lumbini Medical College Prabhas in Palpa for treatment.

Security forces, residents, and forest officials are tirelessly battling the ongoing fire, which continues to reignite even after being extinguished.
