A wildfire raging in Kailali district has devastated 51 bighas of wheat crop across Joshipur Rural Municipality-6 and Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-6. The fire is believed to have started on Saturday afternoon.
In Joshipur-6, an estimated 50 bighas of harvested wheat were destroyed after a fire ignited in a neighboring house. Police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kavindrasingh Bohora, reported the devastating loss.
A separate fire in Bardagoria-6 was caused by burning garbage, destroying an additional 18 katthas of wheat crops. Fire brigades from both Ghodaghodi and Lamkichuha Municipalities were able to bring the blaze under control.
