A teaser for the documentary ‘Road to Everest’ has been released, showcasing the journey to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. The documentary is based on the story of a 50-year-old man who defies age, time, and his own limitations to pursue his dream of climbing Everest.
The documentary, directed by Nirmal Shrestha, features record-holding climbers Furba Tenzing Sherpa and Nima Gyalzen Sherpa. Furba has successfully climbed Everest 18 times, while Nima has climbed 10 times, including the world’s 14 highest peaks.
The documentary explores the majesty of Everest, the risks of climbing, the contributions of the Sherpa community, human endurance, and the impact of climate change on the Himalayan environment. The film’s runtime is over 50 minutes.
‘Road to Everest’ will premiere in Nepal on Bhadra 6 and internationally on Bhadra 28 in Hong Kong. The film aims to promote Nepal’s tourism industry worldwide.
The documentary is a production of the social organization ‘We Will Rise Foundation’ and features the voiceover of Bhushan Dahal. The story was written by journalist Santosh Acharya and director Shrestha, who is also a communication expert.
The film was researched, shot, and produced over a period of two years. It will be showcased in various international platforms and theaters, along with Nepal.
