A new documentary titled ‘Road to Everest’ has released its first look poster and official teaser, showcasing an epic journey to the world’s highest peak.
The documentary, which claims to be the first of its kind to feature a real journey from sea level to the summit of Mount Everest without any artificial scenes, explores the adventure, mystery, and impact of climate change on the mountain.
The film tells the story of a 50-year-old man who defies his age, time, and limitations to pursue his dream of climbing Everest, and features renowned mountaineers Furba Tenzing Sherpa and Nima Gyalzen Sherpa.
Directed by Nirmal Shrestha, ‘Road to Everest’ also stars Binod Gurung, Suraj Gurung, and Nirmal Shrestha himself. The documentary is set to premiere in Nepal on Ashar 6, 2083 (August 22, 2026), and internationally in Hong Kong on Ashar 28, 2083 (September 13, 2026).
The film’s story was written by journalist Santosh Acharya and Nirmal Shrestha, and features a voiceover by Bhushan Dahal. Produced by social organization We Will Rise Foundation, ‘Road to Everest’ aims to promote Nepal’s tourism industry worldwide.
The first look poster and teaser offer a glimpse into the visually stunning, emotionally charged, and risk-filled journey, as well as the unwavering courage of the mountaineers.
