KATHMANDU – The Election Commission (EC) of Nepal today will review and publish the finalized candidate list for the upcoming by-elections in Ilam-2 and Bajhang-1. The Commission is currently scrutinizing objections filed against candidates in both constituencies.
The EC will continue to review objections until 5 PM today. If any objections are found valid, candidates could be removed from the list. Following the review, the EC will publish the finalized list of candidates.
Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations will be able to do so tomorrow. Subsequently, the EC will publish the final candidate list with assigned election symbols.
Voting for the by-elections will be held on April 27 from 7 AM to 5 PM.
The by-election will fill vacant seats with 20 candidates running in Ilam-2, and 12 candidates registered in Bajhang-1.
