The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police now has the findings of the High-Level Probe Commission on Gold Smuggling. The report, led by former high court judge Dilli Raj Acharya, was submitted on Sunday.
AIG Shyam Lal Gyawali, CIB chief, confirmed receipt and stated, “Following a thorough examination, we will initiate the necessary action process.” He emphasized that decisions on prosecutions and arrests are still pending.
The commission’s report, submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs on March 14th, contains significant recommendations stemming from extensive investigations into gold smuggling cases. Formed in October 2023, the commission conducted detailed studies and analyses to produce its findings.
