A chemical truck erupted in flames on Prithvi Highway in Gajuri rural municipality-6, Banchetar, Dhading this morning. The truck (registration Na 4 Kha 8617), traveling from Sunauli to Kathmandu, was carrying an unknown type of chemicals believed to be for medical use.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, but authorities speculate a chemical reaction ignited the blaze. Traffic on the highway was significantly disrupted during the incident.
Firefighters from Dhunibesi Municipality were dispatched but struggled to contain the fire. Traffic has now returned to normal following the fire’s suppression, according to District Police Office Dhading spokesperson Makendra Mishra. Damage estimates are pending, and the truck’s driver, Sushil BK, escaped unharmed.
