A Nepali climber who lost his life on Pakistan’s Broad Peak mountain has been brought back to Kathmandu. Purba Gurung, also known as Yukta, was among 10 people, including six Nepalis, who died on the mountain.

Gurung’s body was the only one to be recovered and brought back to Nepal. A veteran climber, he had successfully climbed Mount Everest 10 times and had conquered peaks above 8,000 meters 28 times.

Family members and relatives paid their respects to Gurung by offering flowers, garlands, and food to his body. He was from Laprak village in Gorkha.
