Bajura Police Intensify Security Patrols in High-Risk Areas

Bajura police have intensified security patrols in high-risk areas of the district as part of their disaster preparedness efforts.

According to DSP Shaileshwori Bohara, Chief of the District Police Office, Bajura, the police have been conducting regular patrols in areas prone to landslides, floods, and road blockages, especially during the monsoon season.

‘Our approach is to identify potential risks, monitor the situation regularly, and alert the locals,’ DSP Bohara said. ‘We are not just waiting for an incident to occur and then respond, but are taking proactive measures to minimize damage.’

Recently, a team led by Inspector Naresh Bahadur Shahi conducted patrols in various wards of Budhiganga and Triveni municipalities, identifying high-risk areas and clearing roads blocked by landslides.

Challenges in Disaster Management

Bajura is a geographically challenging district, prone to large-scale disasters every year. The main road connecting the district is often blocked, making disaster preparedness and response challenging.

‘The police role is not just limited to maintaining law and order, but also extends to disaster management,’ Inspector Shahi said. ‘We need to be proactive in our approach, not just responding to incidents, but also preparing for them.’
