The Armed Police Force (APF) has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the 8th Birat Gold Cup after defeating Church Boys United 2-0 in a quarter-final match held Monday night in Biratnagar.
Pradip Lama and Anish Maharjan scored the decisive goals for APF in the 57th and 81st minutes respectively, after a scoreless first half. APF will now face Sangrila Morang AFA for a chance to reach the finals.
This victory marks a measure of revenge for APF, who had previously been defeated 4-1 by Church Boys in the Shaheed Smarak A Division League. Church Boys, fresh off their Itahari Gold Cup title, struggled defensively and missed several scoring opportunities throughout the match.
