SC Cases

Chief Justice (CJ) Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha announced the Supreme Court’s commitment to resolving cases older than five years. This mission is crucial as only 40 cases remain from those filed over a decade ago. The Court is making significant progress in reducing its backlog.

The oldest outstanding cases date back to 2067 BS (approximately 2010-2011). The Court’s effective case management system contributes significantly to streamlining the resolution process.

CJ Shrestha acknowledged that recent legislation has increased caseloads at the Supreme Court. To address this, the Court is strategically managing the workload by carefully assigning judges and officials based on the number of cases in each court.
