A tragic fire in Itahari has claimed the life of 52-year-old Gopimaya Katwal. The incident occurred at the residence of Bishnu Khadka, where Ms. Katwal was residing in a rented room with her son and daughter-in-law.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Naveen Krishna Bhandari, stated that initial investigations suggest the possibility of self-immolation. The room was discovered locked from the inside. The Sunsari District Police Office is conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire.
Family members disclosed that Ms. Katwal had been receiving treatment for depression.
